Our Mission

The mission of the Ardsley Fire Department is to protect life, property, and the environment in our community through fire suppression, emergency response, public education, and fire prevention.

We are committed to serving the Village of Ardsley with
professionalism, dedication, and compassion, while fostering a spirit of volunteerism and continuous improvement.

Our History

Founded on January 25, 1896, the Ardsley Fire Department is one of the oldest volunteer departments in Westchester County. Started by residents with hand-drawn hose carts and buckets, it evolved over time into a modern volunteer force.

For over 125 years, its 100% volunteer members have served the community – responding to fires, accidents, storms, hazardous conditions and mutual aid calls in Greenburgh and beyond.

Residents

Our department protects over 5,000 residents in Ardsley and assists almost 100,000 people in the Greenburgh area.

We maintain a robust team of passionate individuals dedicated to protecting life and property in our community. Composed entirely of volunteers who respond to emergencies with unwavering commitment and training.
